Kite Fishing in Florida 1

The kite you see in the video is bought from "Paul's Fishing Kites" in NZ. It is the Flexiwing Delta Kite. www.fishingkites.co.nz/kites-kite-designs/flex-delta-kite.html I also bought the Skyhook. This is an additional kite that will enhance the flying of the Flexiwing. www.fishingkites.co.nz/kites-kite-designs/sail-kite.html I was flying the combination several times over grass before I tried ...
Kite Train
Переглядів 1,2 тис.8 років тому
My first kite train I built out of Tyvek. I made 50 little kits 15 x 13 inches. The distance between each kite is 4 feet. This was the first time I flew them at the Daytona Beach in Florida. You also see at one point the Amercian and Swiss flag kite. We built that kite in 1993 and has many hundreds of flying hours. It is built according to the Genki pattern.

That is way over complicated
Worked with Glenn Martinez in Hawaii in Aquaponics. I had a few systems going. Now I'm in Virginia and playing with Glenn's pipe designs for applications in my duck pond.
How much more in materials cost to extend it?
Lock the reel on the hook section rod then contnue to let out the kite the pressure from the kite should flick open the clip .Pulling the hook section rod from that distance with that amount of line out in the water may not actually be taunt due to drift and line slack. Yea lock hook rod hold it back with a second sand spike and rope tied around rod just above reel to secure the let kite pull out more until you see hook rod bend under tight line tension then it should pop back with kite running out further without any pull on the hook line rod. Than you just have to crank kite reel all the way back in to retrieve. Its a big job but a lot cheaper than a boat and trailer and it catches good when its fish bite time.. I love it.Blows your mind the first couple of time because its next level -brilliance
Great video Gregor, great to see you enjoying our kites. Keep up the good work!
NOT so silent but deadly @ 5:10 HAHAHA!!
Are you still going kite fishing?
How much did you spend for the whole system?
Probably about $350. Today they fish with drones and do not have to keep up with the wind directions and stuff. Paul's got plenty of videos up there on how to do it. The problem is $$$ it will set you back about 2 grand but would be much easier to handle than the kite!!!
@@mynamespelled I think I'll just use slingshot to cast further, cheaper and easier to setup..
amazing!
This is just superb, been searching for "surf fishing gear for sale" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Wenayden Xenaylee Blaster - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some interesting things about it and my brother in law got amazing results with it.
why did i watch this again
You watch this again because the cinematography was so out of this world, the voices so excellent that you have to come back time after time to experience this again and again... LOL 😀
Wow thank you sir I’ve been trying to figure this type the longest!!!!!!!! ✌️💯✌️✌️🙏🙏
Hey, I might be a litlle late, but I saw this video just now and I have a question. What is the difference as thhe air comes in as it is in the video, or if it is connected below waterlevel, or even allmost at the bottom of the pipe?
There would be no difference in pumping the water except your air hose has to be in the water. So you need more space to put the pipe in a hole to pump the water out.
Hello Gregor, thank you for sharing the video, I am confused about the second model, is the holes are drilled at the end of the inside pipe? Does it have the same structure as the first one? If it is the same, is it just a bigger air chamber and no submerged air line? Or it doesn't have a buttom ring at the end of the pipe? Thanks.
If you would like more information fill out this form on my webpage and I will send you some stuff!! www.berninamechanic.com/contact-visitors
thank you i have been looking all over for a better view of the pipe in a pipe airlift by glenn still a bit unclear how the bottom of version number two works. do you have basically the same system like up top just with holes drilled into the inner tube?
that is correct. Like any other airlift pump, you drill holes in the inner tube. If you would like more information fill out this form on my webpage and I will send you some stuff!! www.berninamechanic.com/contact-visitors
Super Cool! Is there a particular name for the type of auto Bell siphon you have? I've been using the bell siphon in the grow bed. I love your external set up. Great vid 🥗🌱
Thank you! I do not believe the Bell Siphon has a special name. One day on UA-cam I saw it and when I made the decision to have the Bell siphon outside the growing bed because of space and maintenance I chosen this one! The siphon was in that set up for over 3 years day and night and never ever had a problem! I will use that again in my next growing set up!
Awesome! Thanks 4 replying
Your release clip was too tight...
The idea is to do this process without ANY Power. Using an air pump to cause the effect is worthless. Dramatic music with this... lol terrible.
I can't wait to see your idea to lift water without power or energy! I'm waiting...
@@gregorsidler3962 Are you purposely being ignorant? Or did you just misunderstand? Power being electrical... power being the air pump. Energy comes from action. Ask yourself how a siphon works... the motion of water can create another action... but it's being wasted here. He might as well use a regular water pump, rather than waste time with this inefficient method. Get a clue.
@@VielofDarkness The last thing I want is a pissing match here. Watch this 14 min video and now you know why I'm lifting my water with air and not with a pump. ua-cam.com/video/XieJJ-gZxzw/v-deo.html
Did you catch any fish. Big kite for a small rod. How did you wind that back in..
I did not catch any fish that day since that was only the trial flight. Believe it or not, the kite is not that big at all but it flies like no other kite I have. What I'm trying to say is it is the most stable kite I own. I fly and build kites for a hobby and this one really succeeded my expectations. No matter how choppy the wind that baby just stays up there like an Anker. The recommended test line is only 25kg.
This a whole nother hobby/challenge separate and indifferent to fishing! I love it!
I never understand the annoying music put to good videos

Hello Gregor Sidler. If you are tying the fishing reel directly at the end of the hooks' line and the realease clip at the beginning of it, does it form a large gap so that will prevent the operation of the realease clip? Would you have better if the beginning of the hooks line were tied to the drop line instead, so it could be realesed by the stretched line of fishing reel?
www.fishingkites.co.nz/popup/kitedropper.htm here you see the diagram how it works!!
@@gregorsidler3962 All right. But what confuses in this diagram is that does not appear the fishing reel and neither the place where the realease clip is positioned.

mate gr8 vid! can u do more kite fishing vids?
Gregor from Cutler Bay Area we should go fishing together one day if you want . Have my own flexiwing kite from Paul, works great not complicated just learning what goes out first and t what attaches to what right folks. LOL.
Who dis
This is a neat pump. On their website the drawings are for sale any more so probably the patent went public. Can you please write the number of patent please ? Or maybe just add a more clear photo or video of the holes at the bottom of the pipe. Thank you!
Send me a private message in facebook and I see what I can do for you!
It's not clear what's at the end of the pipe in pipe
Holy crap that is a lot of work.
try swimming out that far hahaha
I have been using one of these for the last 15 years in Auckland NewZealand and TOTALLY disagree with the comments saying it is a complicated system. It is extremely easy to use and is a robust way of catching a feed. If you think it is complicated then you may try paying for your fish from a shop instead of doing any work to catch it just to make it a bit less complicated perhaps??
There are others who say it is complicated.... not to me. It is straightforward and I wish I could use it more.
It's a totally over worked system unless you targeting a deep fish species most of the world goes work smarter not harder bud a damn kite....loll ok Ben
Still kite fishing?
What kind of air pump are you using

Nicely done. A vacation the grandkids will remember.
cool video but hate the music
Sorry...... :-(((
I really appreciate the video though, great job!
Your doing that all wrong. The air needs to enter from the lowest point of the riser tube to be even close to max efficiency. When the air has a long riser run the air bubbles expand and push water slugs with them. You're design is missing out on that effect. Also the water level inside the tube naturally rises above the surface level if you pump air in from the bottom, as the density of the water in the tube decreases. Also if you add an O2 release port at the top and pump air in from the bottom (especially with a fine 02 microdiffuser) the pressure inside the tube will be relieved as the water rises, which will encourage rapid bubble expansion, vastly increasing your siphons pull. I'd say your build is moving less than 25% of the water that it could be with that compressor.
Michael Ptasnik I am trying to understand this system for a Aquaponics system, but the videos I have watch so far do not make it clear, from what you have written above makes it a bit more clearer. Can you let me know once the lift of water is accomplished can the air pump be removed? I assume that it can be and the flow will be continuous. Thanks.
Trevor Cole No, the air is what makes it work and must be provided at all times. Water flow with an air pump is not continuous. The pipe depth and height in respect to the waterline must also be equal. It is a very inefficient method of pumping.
So looking at this design, would you then put the air at the bottom going up?
@@alejandrodelacruz2207 Yeah with a hard airline to the bottom so the water pressure doesn't compress the tube like it does with flexi-lines. And the the air stone about 6" from the bottom.
@@trevorcole460 No, it can't be removed the upward vacuum isn't quite strong enough, but it does do most of the work, so if you have a variable pump you'll be able to turn it down once it gets started. Otherwise a very small pump can move that if it's setup right.
Hello Gregor, thank you for sharing this video. May i know the name of the part where Glen Martinez's pump injects air. Please indicate the name of the parts needed to connect the pipe in a pipe where the air is injected. Thank you!
With all the effort, energy, money, pipes etc.... Just get a small Pump and Air, you will get your lift + Air ://
Yes, you are correct... with an airlift pump, you can "transport" all the dirt sand and stones... with a normal pump you can't. :-)
Gregor Sidler Um, no, that's not correct. There is a limit to the mass that can be transported.
I don't get it, I mean how work bioponic?is such a great idea, if you could explain me I really appreciate it. sorry my English isn't the best. thanks for share.
